Experiments for heat release [kW] were conducted in an open calorimeter on full-scale upholstered furniture items.

Schmidt-Boelter heat flux gauges were oriented to face the centerline of the furniture item at distances of 0.5 m, 1.0 m, 1.5 m, and 2.0 m from the face of the furniture item.

The temperature at the centerline of the furniture item was measured with type K thermocouples at elevations of 2.47 m, 3.47 m, and 4.47 m above the floor.

The vertical velocity at the centerline of the furniture item was measured with bi-directional probes at elevations of 2.47 m, 3.47 m, and 4.47 m above the floor.
